If you’re looking for the best in nourishing skin care, close your beauty cabinet and open your pantry. Read on to discover the simple way to reap honey's beauty benefits.

When it comes to achieving healthy skin, simple is better. Natural ingredients such as honey have been used for thousands of years, dating back to ancient Egypt. So when it comes to your skin care, maybe it’s time to go old school. Take advantage of honey’s beautifying properties with this simple DIY face mask. Using three ingredients, this mask will reduce inflammation, target wrinkles, and leave your skin feeling smooth and supple. If all of the ingredients aren’t already in your kitchen, they can be found at your local health food store.

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) ripe avocado
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) raw honey
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) plain organic yogurt

In small bowl, mash avocado until smooth. Stir in honey and yogurt until well mixed. Massage mixture onto your face, and let sit for 30 minutes. When done, remove with warm water, and moisturize. Use mask 2 to 3 times a week for best results and to reap the beauty benefits honey has to offer.

Bonus: Honey hair mask

Use any leftovers of this mask in your hair. Coat dry hair from scalp to ends, and leave on for about 15 minutes before washing hair as usual. This nourishing treatment will leave your locks shiny and smooth.

Honey for healthy, glowing skin

Raw honey is a miracle ingredient. Honey has antibacterial properties that fight blemishes without drying out your skin. It reduces inflammation and minimizes scarring and redness. As a humectant, honey attracts and retains moisture, making it a powerful ingredient for battling wrinkles and maintaining skin’s youthful glow.
